What is a Data Point (DP)?
Every API response has a cost in Data Points (DP) — a unit that reflects the computational weight of the endpoint. Simple dictionary lookups cost 1 DP; heavy NLP operations cost more. Your plan gives you a daily DP budget that resets at midnight UTC.

Can I exceed my daily limit?
No — the API returns 429 when your daily DP budget is exhausted. It resets at midnight UTC.
Do unused DPs roll over?
No. Daily limits reset each day; monthly limits reset on the 1st of each month.
Which endpoints need the NLP sidecar?
Morphology, إعراب, transliteration, diacritization, dialect ID, and prosody require Phase 3 deployment. All dictionary, Quran, search, spell, OCR, TTS, and billing endpoints work today.
Do cached responses cost DP?
No. Top 5,000 common words at basic tier are served from cache at 0 DP. NLP sidecar responses are also cached — repeated calls for the same text cost 0 DP.
