Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the KalimaLab API, website, or any related services (collectively, "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

2. Description of Service

KalimaLab provides programmatic access to an Arabic word database via a REST API. The service includes search, morphological analysis, text analytics, and word-of-the-day functionality. Features vary by subscription plan.

3. API Usage & Rate Limits

Your use of the API is subject to the rate limits of your subscription plan. Exceeding rate limits will result in 429 responses. You must not:

  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits through multiple accounts or API keys
  • Resell or redistribute raw API responses as a competing data product
  • Use the API to train machine learning models without a commercial license
  • Make requests that could degrade service quality for other users

4. Payment & Billing

Paid plans are billed monthly in advance. Payments are processed by Stripe. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain full access until then. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.

5. Prohibited Uses

You may not use the Services to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation
  • Transmit malware, spam, or otherwise harmful content
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems

6. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, engage in prohibited use, or if required by law. You may close your account at any time from dashboard settings. Upon termination, your API keys will be revoked immediately.

7. Limitation of Liability

The Services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. KalimaLab is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Dubai, UAE.

9. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will provide at least 14 days' notice of material changes via email. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance.
